I read somewhere "Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of, no matter what you do, she is still there."
This is how I feel about my sis {and bro-n-law}.
She and her husband are two of those people in our life that have
been rooting for us since before we were any good at photography.
Though I rarely talk about my faith on our blog, I can hardly hide it when I talk about my family.
Having
grown up in West Africa, with two siblings, sometimes we were each
others only option, or last resort if you will, as friends. Because of
this, the three of us {my brother Jason & Sister Lauren} have a very
strong bond. We rarely if ever fight, and we pray for each other and
our families often if not daily. They are my stronghold in time of
crisis and the first people I call with good news. We are held together
by our faith in God and our Love for others.
One story
that come right away to my mind when I think of my sister is a time of
great crisis in Africa. My parents were away on a business trip to South
Africa {a 6 hour plane ride away} and my sister was in charge of me for
the week. I got sick with Malaria and was up off and on through the
night sick, hallucinating, high fever{eventually I passed out from
fatigue}. My sister had to call in to our school to let them know we
would not be there, and stayed home caring for me that whole day. She
also called our P.E. teacher{Tammy Grainger} to take us to the clinic to
get an injection of anti-malarial drugs. With out her in that
situation, I would not be here today.
So needless to say she has always been there for me and I love her dearly.
